Held at the Hotel Equatorial in Putrajaya, Malaysia from 30th September, 2011 to 3rd October, 2011, the 4-day event concluded with the participants having developed long-term worthy visions in one of their key roles in their lives. The objectives of the retreat included the understanding of sound ideology, defining the ultimate purpose of one’s life, developing the long-term vision in one of the roles and defining the purpose behind that vision.

Inspiring senior scholar Sheikh Hashim Ahmad travelled especially for the first day’s discussion on sound ideology and ultimate purpose. Not only did his talk laid the foundation of the retreat but also helped the attendees to reflect upon the purpose of life and how to align their day-to-day prioritizations with it.

The participants were from different origins including India, Pakistan, Palestine and the UK. The retreat was facilitated by Mr. Suleman Ahmer (the founder and CEO) and Mr. Yameenuddin Ahmed (senior consultant and trainer). The participants were given the task of developing few more visions in some of the other roles, using the same process and the Timelenders' facilitators will continue to assist them. The facilitators and participants have decided to meet again at the ‘Vision Retreat Reunion’ in March 2012 in Sri Lanka, where they will present their progress on their work. Other Vision Retreat graduates will also be invited as the reunion would be a tremendous learning opportunity for those who have attended the retreat earlier and working on their visions. The date and venue of the event in Sri Lanka will be announced later.

“The idea of reunion came about with a view to share the refinement in the visioning framework with the ex-graduates of retreats and to learn from the challenges and learning of the graduates during the application phase and to further facilitate them in the process.” Mr. Suleman Ahmer said at the end of the retreat in Malaysia.

One of the retreat graduate Mr. Fahed Bizzari commented, “As an entrepreneur and management consultant, I place a lot of value on visioning and planning. But I never get the time to apply similar concepts to myself as a person. Being able to escape day-to-day life and get the mind-space and assistance needed to understand the Timelenders’ visioning framework and articulate the vision I have for one my roles in life was truly invaluable. I am more determined than ever to live a truly worthy, vision-led life and recommend others to follow suit.”

“People who would like to lead a meaningful life should come forward and learn the art of seeing the unseen. This is one of the most powerful framework to lead a vision oriented and purpose driven life.” Said senior businessman Mr. Abdul Wali Khan. Abdul Wali is father of 4 and attended the retreat with his spouse to develop the shared visions for their family.

The next vision retreat is planned in Karachi from 30th December 2011 to 1st January, 2012.
